In Bulgaria, hidden between two high mountains, the Rose Valley is located, where the Rosa Damascena fills the air with its fragrance and "the fluid gold" of Bulgaria - the rose oil -is produced. The rose harvest begins and is celebrated in the beginning of June. The festival begins with traditional dances and songs dedicated to the Queen of all flowers. You have the opportunity to participate in the rose harvest and experience the special atmosphere of this beautiful summer days.

Program:

 Day 1: Arrival in Sofia - Airport

Day 2: Sofia - Troyan Monastery - Tryavna
After breakfast, you will be driven to the picturesque town of Tryavna. On the way the cave Saeva Dupka will be visited. The picturesque cave is over 6 million years old. You will also make a stop at a picturesque place of pilgrimage - the third largest Bulgarian monastery - the Troyan monastery, where one of the three miraculous Mother of God Icons of Bulgaria is held. The whole afternoon is dedicated to the heart of the Bulgarian Revival period - Tryavna. You will have a walk on the cobblestone paved craftsmen streets of the town. You will admire the masterfully wood carved suns in the Daskalov house and can enjoy the typical for the area sweets and coffee boiled on hot sand. In the evening, you will learn the secrets of the Bulgarian cuisine.

Day 3: Tryavna - Veliko Arbanassi - Tryavna Tarnovo -
Today you will be immersed not only in the history of the Second Bulgarian Empire by visiting the Tsar's seat and the Patriarchal Church on the hill Tsarevets in Veliko Tarnovo, but will also take a walk along an ancient trade street (Samovodska Tsharshiya). She is a living museum of traditions and way of life in the 18th -19th century. Above the old Bulgarian capital is located the village of Arbanassi. With its 300 houses and small monasteries from the 17th century it is an architecture reserve. Visit to one of the most interesting churches in Bulgaria, which has more than 600 frescoes with scenes from the Old and New Testaments.Return to Tryavna.

Day 4: Tryavna - Shipka - Kazanlak
Today you will be driven to the Rose Valley or as it is called also - the Valley of the Thracian Kings. Various traces of the Thracian culture were exposed here lately, including many tombs with gold treasures, which impress with their fine design. There, the Archaeological Museum will be visited, where you will learn much about this interesting people after the numerous artifacts. In Kazanlak is the Thracian tomb, which walls have well-preserved frescoes from the 4th century BC that illustrate the life and traditions of the Thracians. In the evening - local food at a typical inn.

Day 5: Rose Festival
The day begins with rose harvest on the rose fields. This petite rose has to be picked at sunrise, when it’s smell is most intense. Then, from it, the best rose oil is made. With songs and dances the rose harvest begins. The hospitable hosts have prepared an exclusive program for you. You can also visit a showroom where you can sample many rose products, including a liquor made from roses. There is also eating and drinking as much as you want. In the Ethnographic Museum, you will get to know the old traditions and see as well how the rose oil was destilled in ancient times. Dinner and overnight in Kazanlak.

Day 6: Kazanlak - Plovdiv
Plovdiv is the second largest city in Bulgaria, but also one of the oldest. Over the time this city had different names - Eumolpia, Philipoppolis, Trimontium, Puldin, Philibe ect. It is a pleasure to stroll in the old part, as in the new city center and get to know the city's development over the centuries as well as in the present. In the evening you will experience a funny entertainment with gypsy folklore of the Balkans.

Day 7: Plovdiv - Sofia
On this day you will visit our capital city and the National History Museum, where a big part of the Thracian treasures is issued. Walking tour in the city center with all the architectural monuments of the capital (the Alexander Nevski Cathedral, the Russian church, the first Tsar's Palace, the National Theatre, the round church "Saint George", the Roman buildings, the Presidential Palace, Parliament, etc.) The program includes also a visit to the Boyana Church (World Heritage Site).
