The purpose of this trip is the oldest Greek colony on the Black Sea coast - Apollonia- the present town of Sozopol. There, the huge statue of the god Apollo, which was later taken by the Roman legions as a trophy to Rome, rose. Now Sozopol is a small but picturesque town where a lot is happening lately. Here relics of John the Baptist were found, which can be seen in the church of the Holy Cyrill and Method.
A walk through the narrow streets, in the shade of the fig trees and the protruding second floors of the 300 year old houses wherever Greek music sounds, follows. You will visit a small church from the 16th century, with beautiful altar wall, pulpit and bishop's throne. There are masterpieces of wood carvers from the Debar - art school. Lunch at the restaurant “the Windmill”. In the afternoon, you will have another experience - one hour boat trip on the most beautiful river - the Ropotamo.
